The Ministry of Justice has added Vladimir Dorokhov, Chairman of the Tula branch of Yabloko and Deputy Chairman of Yabloko, to the register of “foreign agents”. Dorokhov became the eighth member of Yabloko and the third Deputy Chairman of the party to receive this status.
The authorities have been preparing to add the leader of the Tula Yabloko to the register since at least the beginning of the summer. In June, the Electoral Commission of the Tula Region “accidentally”, on its website, attributed the status of “foreign agent” to Dorokhov, who had to run in gubernatorial elections as a candidate from Yabloko, and in August, an unidentified person from Armenia sent him two money transfers to Dorokhov’s personal accounts, the numbers of these accounts no one knew, except the electoral commission. Vladimir immediately reported this to the Central Bank and the FSB, and the banks returned the money to the sender.
“Once again, a person who cares about his country and criticises the government has been declared a “foreign agent”,” Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov said.
Earlier, eight Yabloko members were added to the register of “foreign agents”, including Deputy Chairmen of the party Lev Shlosberg and Boris Vishnevsky, member of the Federal Political Committee Svetlana Gannushkina, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow branch Andrei Morev, and journalist and Nobel Prize winner Dmitry Muratov.
