Maxim Kruglov, a Yabloko candidate for the Moscow City Duma and the current deputy of the Moscow City Duma, told about the decision of the electoral commission to invalidate about a thousand signatures out total 5,660 signatures required for his registration in the Moscow City Duma elections. Lawyers from Maxim Kruglov’s team are preparing objections to the commission’s decision and will defend the signatures in court if necessary.
According to the protocol of District Electoral Commission No.13, 1,037 signatures were registered with the following “violations”:
– discrepancy with the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (no registration, mistake in last name, etc.) – 626 signatures.
– handwriting (the commission believes that the full name was not entered by the voter’s hand) – 79.
– technical defects (the correction was not certified, an extra comma was added) – 332.
The protocol of the commission was ready and signed by the Chairman on Friday, 12 July, but it was handed to the candidate only on the evening of 15 July, so that lawyers would have less time to prepare objections.
According to Maxim Kruglov, this is an obvious political solution to destroy political competition. The candidate’s team is confident in the quality of the signatures submitted to the electoral commission.
“I am sincerely grateful to every Muscovite who supported me. We will fight for every signature,” Kruglov wrote in his Telegram channel.
It should be noted that the campaign to collect signatures that had to be submitted to the electoral commission in support of the current Moscow City Duma deputy from the Yabloko party Maxim Kruglov and other candidates was held under the slogan “For Peace and Freedom!”. Together, the candidates from Yabloko collected 51,526 signatures from Muscovites (https://eng.yabloko.ru/33967-2/ ) who openly signed up for the candidates running under this slogan.
