Court found Yabloko candidate in the Moscow City Duma elections Vladimir Kalinin guilty of “demonstrating extremist symbols”
Press Release, 5.07.2024
Yabloko candidate in the Moscow City Duma elections Vladimir Kalinin was found guilty of “demonstration of extremist symbols” for a post on social media in 2019 dedicated to the elections.
He is fined 2,000 roubles and will not be allowed to participate in the elections. The decision was made by the Gagarinsky District Court of Moscow.
It has become known that the denunciation against Vladimir Kalinin was written by a former employee of the housing and utilities services company in the Lomonosovsky district of Moscow, which was Kalinin’s constituency.
It should be noted that Yabloko nominated 24 candidates for the elections in Moscow, who are campaigning under the slogan “For Peace and Freedom! For the Ceasefire Agreement!”
Yabloko asks Muscovites to sign up for our candidates until Sunday, 7 July. One can put his/her signature for a Yabloko candidate at the party office (Pyatnitskaya 31, building 2) and through the State Services website.
