The Yabloko party stands for the immediate conclusion of a ceasefire agreement without preconditions.

Neither the resolution of the summit in Switzerland, nor Vladimir Putin’s statements at the meeting with the leadership of the Foreign Ministry answer the most important question: when people, including civilians, will not be killed anymore.

This means that the bloodshed will continue and there will be new victims.

Yabloko proposes a fundamentally different approach (https://eng.yabloko.ru/32632-2/ ). The bloodshed must end now. Stopping the bloodshed is not the result of lengthy future negotiations, but their mandatory precondition.

An immediate ceasefire agreement without any preconditions is needed.

After this, negotiations on peace terms, whatever long they may take, can begin – or, politicians, if they prefer so, can exchange ultimatums and conditions for starting a dialogue.

However, the main thing will take place: killing of people will be stopped. And then negotiations can continue for as long as desired, in any place. Stop killing people!
