“Philosopher of freedom and creativity.” Yabloko to host a lecture on Russian philosopher Nikolai Berdyaev

On 20 June, a lecture dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Russian philosopher and sociologist Nikolai Berdyaev will be held at the Yabloko party’s central office in Moscow and will be also streamed on the Yabloko YouTube channel. The lecture will be given by Anastasia Gacheva, a leading researcher at the Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences.
Nikolai Berdyaev defined the key problems of his philosophy: “the problem of man, the problem of freedom, and the problem of creativity.” The lecture will cover how the “philosopher of a free spirit” revealed these problems in his main books, covering four decades of his life: “The Philosophy of Freedom”, “The Meaning of the Creative Act”, “The Destiny of Man”, “Slavery and Freedom” and others.
The lecture will take place at the Yabloko office in Moscow (Pyatnitskaya 31, building 2) on 2o June at 19:00 (Moscow time). Registration is required. The lecture will be also streamed on the Yabloko’s YouTube channel.
