On 23 November, the Counting Commission of the Yabloko party will sum up the results of its consideration of individual proposals from party members and regional conferences (general meetings) of Yabloko branches on candidates for the post of Chairman of Yabloko.

Reception of proposals on candidates for the post of Chairman that had to be forwarded to the Federal Political Committee of Yabloko ended on 19 November. Each Yabloko member could nominate his/her own candidate for the post of Yabloko Chairman; conferences and general meetings of regional branches of the party were also given the right to nominate.

The Federal Political Committee will submit a short list of candidates for the post of Yabloko Chairmen at the party congress on 9-10 December for consideration by delegates. The winner will be determined by a secret vote of the congress delegates.

The post of party Сhairman has been held by Nikolai Rybakov since 2019. In 2015-2019, the party was led by Emilia Slabunova, in 2008-2015 – by Sergei Mitrokhin. From 2001, when Yabloko was transformed from an association into a political party, and until 2008 the Chairman of the party was Grigory Yavlinsky. According to the Yabloko By-Laws, the same person cannot lead a party for more than two terms.
