Yabloko will participate in the by-election of deputies of the Novosibirsk City Council

Two candidates for deputies were nominated by the Novosibirsk branch of the Yabloko party at a meeting of the regional bureau held on Sunday. By-elections for the electoral districts Nos 40 and 49 will be held on 15-17 December, 2023.
Candidate for the electoral district No 40 of the Oktyabrsky district of Novosibirsk Pyotr Kopylov, 36, graduated from Novosibirsk State Technological University with a degree in Aircraft and Helicopter Engineering. He is the founder and director of a commercial enterprise specialising in the development of industrial design of machines, instruments and equipment, and also manages pilot production in another private technological company, where he organises the production of prototypes of instruments for oil and gas production.
Candidate for the electoral district No 49 of the Central District of Novosibirsk is Maxim Novikov, 20, he graduated from the College of Trade and Economics with a degree in freight logistics. Now he is a second-year student at Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration majoring in State and Municipal Administration, he is a member of the board of a local public organisation for the development of local self-government, and works on the problems of improving the urban area.
The candidates have to collect signatures from residents of their electoral districts in support of their nomination. The deadline is 25 October. Pyotr Kopylov needs from 146 to 160 signatures. Maxim Novikov needs from 113 to 124 signatures of citizens so that to get registered.
Both candidates agree to apply and promote the basic values set out in the programme documents of the Yabloko party: a decent future of Russia can only be based on the values of freedom, human rights, the principles of democracy, the rule of law and the inviolability of private property; our country needs deep and comprehensive political reforms, aimed, among other things, at the transition to full-fledged local self-government, transparency of government and its accountability to citizens.
