The apartment of Nikolai Yegorov, Chairman of the Vologda branch of Yabloko, was searched. Yegorov had been already twice brought to administrative responsibility for his posts calling for peace on the Vkontakte social media.
Nikolai Yegorov is the third regional leader of Yabloko who can be prosecuted for his stand on the special military operation. Earlier, criminal cases under the article on “discrediting the army” were initiated against Anatoly Nogovitsyn, Chairman of the Yabloko branch in Yakutia, and Vladimir Yefimov, Chairman of the Kamchatka branch of Yabloko. In March this year, the courts fined them a large fine – 200,000 roubles each. In addition, a criminal case has been initiated against a member of Yabloko from Khakassia, journalist Mikhail Afanasyev. He is accused of spreading “fake news” about the army. Afanasyev has been in jail since April 2022.
