He gave us hope and a chance – for freedom and life without fear. Yet we have failed. But hope remains. Thank you, Mikhail Sergeyevich!”

True, Gorbachev made mistakes, including tragic ones.

But I know for sure: as head of state, he would have never started a war.

He was a real man.
