Alexander Shishlov, head of the Yabloko faction in the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, appealed to the Public Prosecutor of St.Petersburg Viktor Melnik in connection with the fact that after initiating administrative proceedings against him (at the initiative of the St. Petersburg Public Prosecutor’s Office) under Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the RF (“discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”) he started receiving threats and insults on the VKontakte social media.
“I am asking you to organise an investigation and take the measures of prosecutor’s responce aimed at restoring my rights and preventing violations of the law in the exercise of my powers as a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg,” Alexander Shishlov wrote in his letter.
It should be noted that on 29 July, an administrative protocol was drawn up against Alexander Shishlov on “discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”, the police believed that Alexander Shishlov “discredited the army” with his publications on the VKontakte social network, where he wrote about what was happening in the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg. The Petrogradsky District Court will consider the administrative protocol against Alexander Shishlov on 19 August at 14:00.
