On 24 June, the Novgorod regional branch of the Yabloko party held its conference. The conference made a decision on participation of candidates from the party in the elections that will be held in the region in September.
Anna Cherepanova, Chairwoman of the Novgorod branch of Yabloko and deputy of the Novgorod Duma, was nominated to run for the post of Governor of the Novgorod region.
Ksenia Cherepanova became a candidate for deputies of the Novgorod Regional Duma in the Borovichi single-mandate constituency.
Sergei Trofimov will run for the post of head of the Pankovka settlement in the Novgorod municipal district.
“We know that it will not be easy, but we cannot abandon our voters at this difficult historical moment, leaving dozens of thousands of Novgorod region residents alone,” Anna Cherepanova says. “In these elections, we will present an ideological position that is opposite to Vladimir Putin’s parties and candidates. We will try to convey it to people. It can be reduced to three words: “Yabloko stands for peace!” she added.
