Sergei Mitrokhin, Yabloko deputy of the Moscow City Duma, investigated the takeover of the Kolomna Dairy Plant from by Alexei Tkachyov, a State Duma deputy from the ruling United Russia party. Police helped Tkachyov in taking away the plant from its owner. “Reacting to the appeals of my Moscow voters (during the State Duma elections), I conducted my own investigation. It turned out to be a deputy investigation of a deputy’s takeover of a plant, ” Mitrokhin says.
This video shows how entrepreneur Grigory Savinov took a loan from the elder brother of Alexei Tkachyov, then Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, so that to modernise the Kolomna Dairy Plant, and how, some time after that, Tkachyov began to demand that the property title to the plant be transferred to him. According to Savinov, after refusing to do so, he, his colleagues and their relatives began to receive threats. However, a criminal case was opened against Savinov, one of the plant’s managers was arrested, and searches began at their relatives.
“Grigory Savinov learned what it means to run an honest, successful business in Russia,” Sergei Mitrokhin notes. “The Tkachyov family, who are the largest landowners in Europe, expanded their holdings by hostile takeovers of different enterprises. They started from Rostov, and now they have gone all over the country, taking away business from their owners with the support of law enforcement bodies,” Mitrokhin says.
It should be noted that Alexei Tkachyov has been a State Duma deputy since 2003, he is a member of the State Duma Committee on Property, Land and Property Relations.
