The City Court of St.Petersburg rejected the appeal of the electoral commission of the Lanskoye Municipality of St.Petersburg against the decision of the Primorsky District Court obliging the electoral commission to reconsider its rejection for Yabloko candidates in registration in the municipal elections.

On 17 July, the electoral commission of the Lanskoye Municipality of St.Petersburg refused to register five candidates from Yabloko for municipal elections in the constituency. The electoral commission  justified its decision by the fact that the politicians were nominated by the subject of nomination, whose activities were suspended. It was about the St. Petersburg branch of the Yabloko party, which is currently undergoing the process of re-registration.

However, in accordance with the Yabloko By-Laws, all the powers of the Yabloko branch the activities of which are suspended, be vested in the Federal Bureau of the Party. All candidates from Yabloko for municipal deputies in Lanskoye were nominated by the Federal Bureau of Yabloko. These arguments were confirmed on July 27 and 28 by the Primorskiy District Court. The court recognised the decision of the electoral commission to refuse registration for the five Yabloko candidates as unlawful and ordered to reconsider the issue of registration. However, the electoral commission of Lanskoye filed an appeal, but their arguments were not supported by the court. Soon, all Yabloko candidates will be registered for municipal elections.

It should be noted that the Yabloko party nominated five candidates for the Lanskoye municipal council: Dmitry Lysov, Mikhail Molchanov, Anna Shiryaeva, Nikolai Solodkov and Yulia Bobyleva.
