On 16 August, the Central Electoral Commission of Russia again returned Yabloko candidates Anton Gordyuk and Nikolai Prokudin to the parliamentary elections in the Leningrad Region. This decision was made for the second time: on 2 August, the Central Electoral Commission of Russia canceled the decision of the electoral commission of the Leningrad region to remove Gordyuk and Prokudin from the elections, however, on 6 August, the regional electoral commission again excluded them from the electoral list.
“There were no grounds for the Electoral Commission of the Leningrad Region to exclude these candidates from the regional list of candidates,” the Central Electoral Commission of Russia ruled and ordered the regional electoral commission to include Anton Gordyuk and Nikolai Prokudin in the certified list of Yabloko.
“For three weeks the regional electoral commission has been distracting us from campaigning. I hope the present resolution is final,” Anton Gordyuk said.
It should be noted that on 23 July, the Electoral Commission of the Leningrad Region did not believe the two Yabloko candidates that they were Yabloko members and excluded them from the party list for the regional parliament.
The elections of the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region of the seventh convocation will be held on 19 September 2021 on the Single Election Day.
