A meeting of the Regional Council of the Kalinigrad branch of the Yabloko party was held in Kaliningrad. The Regional Council discussed preparations for the 2021 election campaign.

The Regional Council made a decision to take part in elections of all levels and nominate as much as possible Yabloko candidates to the electoral districts. Igor Pleshkov, Chairman of the regional branch, outlined the main directions of the upcoming work: mobilisation of supporters of democratic choice and real changes in the region and in Russia as a whole.

In addition, the Regional Council launched the formation of the electoral headquarters and a team of volunteers and observers from the Yabloko party.

This council adopted a new party member from the farthest corner of the region – Krasnoznamensk. His tasks will also include the organisation of the local branch of the party there.

The tactical issues of the election campaign and consideration of applications from those wishing to join the party or a group of supporters will be considered at the next meeting of the Regional Council in March.

It should be noted that in September 2021, elections to the State Duma, the Kaliningrad Regional Duma and in seven municipalities of the region will be held in the Kaliningrad region, where, following the election of deputies of the representative bodies of local self-government more than 120 mandates will be distributed. Thus, in 2021 the regional Yabloko branch is going to participate in the following elections:

– elections to the City Council of Deputies of Kaliningrad,

– elections to District Council of Deputies of the municipal formation Bagrationovsk urban district,

– elections to the Guryevsk District Council of Deputies,

– elections to the District Council of Deputies of the municipal formation Krasnoznamensk urban district,

– elections to the Council of Deputies of the Neman urban district,

– elections to the District Council of Deputies of the Mamonovo City District Municipal Formation,

– elections to the District Council of Deputies of the municipal formation Pravdino urban district.

More than 530,000 voters have the right to vote in 246 polling stations in these seven municipalities.
