Yabloko party Chairman Nikolai Rybakov visited Kazan and Osinovo, the Republic of Tatarstan, on August 28.

During his stay in the town of Osinovo, Nikolai Rybakov first visited the construction site of an incineration plant. The decision to build this plant caused discontent among local residents and environmental activists. For several months they held protests demanding to stop the construction. But despite the actions, it was announced that the construction of the plant should be completed in 2022.

In Osinovo, Nikolai Rybakov met with candidates from Yabloko in the local elections and party supporters. Six candidates from the party will take part in the election of deputies to the Council of the Osinovsky Rural Settlement of the Zelenodolsk municipal district and two candidates will participate in the elections to the Council of the Oktyabrsky Rural Settlement of the Zelenodolsk municipal district.

The meeting was opened by Ruslan Zinatullin, head of the regional department of the Yabloko party, followed by other candidates. They talked about the problems the town was facing and shared their views on how to solve them.

In his turn, Nikolai Rybakov shared his expertise regarding the construction of waste incineration plants. He explained why this technology was considered outdated, and spoke about the alternative for waste recycling. He also talked about the problems of the town, in particular, the insufficient budget, and spoke about the proposals of Yabloko on how the budgetary policy should be built. At the end of the meeting, the head of Yabloko answered questions from the audience.

During his visit to Osinovo, the head of Yabloko also talked to local residents and discussed what housing and environmental problems they were concerned about. In addition, head of the regional branch of the party Ruslan Zinatullin and Nikolai Rybakov visited the office of the United Democrats and discussed with its representatives the political situation in the country and the upcoming elections.

Earlier in Kazan, Nikolai Rybakov gave an interview to local media. During a live broadcast at the Ekho Moskvy radio station, he explained the dangers of building the incineration plant in the town and answered questions from the audience.
