Boris Vishnevsky, head of the Yabloko faction in the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, submitted for public discussion the first version of his programme for the election of the governor of St. Petersburg. Vishnevsky plans to amend his programme in accordance with proposals and comments of St. Petersburg residents.

“As a rule, the programmes of candidates for governors represent merely a description of how things are, what the problems are, and how the candidate intends to solve these problems. How he/she intends to bring order to education and health care, the housing and utilities and the road sector, social services and landscaping and provision of urban amenities, and so on and so forth. How is he/she going to solve the problems of those who are on the “waiting list” for housing and deceived co-investors for housing construction [people deceived when buying flats on the construction stage], defeat the “infill construction”, repair houses, save squares and parks, support small business, increase salaries for doctors and teachers… I am well aware of these and other problems of St. Petersburg and St.Petersburg residents. And I know how to solve them,” Boris Vishnevsky said.

“I think that we should start dealing with the causes of the problems of citizens, rather than with the consequences. Therefore, my programme is the programme targeted at combatting the causes. Otherwise, we will go on holding protest rallies on a weekly basis, ” added the head of the Yabloko faction.

Boris Vishnevsky stated his intention to participate in the election of the Governor of St. Petersburg in June 2018. Vishnevsky plans to run from the Yabloko party. The St. Petersburg regional branch of the party will hold primaries to determine its candidate for Governor.
