The Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Yabloko nominated its candidate to run in the by-elections to the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod

The Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Yabloko party has nominated Alexei Repnikov as its candidate for by-elections to the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod in a single-mandate electoral district No 17.
“Due to difficult conditions of the campaign, when any competition is suppressed, young politicians have virtually no chance of gaining the experience, and the opposition has been blamed of the lack of such experience. That is why I am going to participate in the by-elections, if I win, I will have two years instead of five to prove to the voters my effectiveness and get the necessary experience,” Alexei Repnikov commented on his nomination.
Alexei Repnikov was born in Nizhny Novgorod on 11 October, 1998. He graduated from Lyceum No 82. In 2016 he entered the Nizhni Novgorod State University, the faculty of electrical engineering and electric power. Member of the Russian Union of Youth, actively participates in the activities of the trade union organisation of the university. In December 2017, he joined the Yabloko party. In 2018 he took an active part in the presidential campaign of Grigory Yavlinsky. In March 2018 he was elected a member of the Control and Revision Commission of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the party.
