Today Yabloko marks a sad anniversary – 20 years since the murder of Yabloko’s Larissa Yudina
Sergei Mitrokhin’s FB post, 07.06.2018
Her blood is on Kirsan Ilyumzhinov’s hands [Kirsan Ilyumzhinov is ex President of the Republic of Kalykia in Russia and now President of the International Chess Federation].
20 years ago, Larissa Yudina, Editor-in-Chief of [oppositional newspaper] Soviet Kalmykia [and of the Kalmykian branch of Yabloko] was brutally murdered. Her murderer Vaskin was part-time assistant to President Ilyumzhinov ON LEGAL ISSUES (!).
Vaskin served his imprisonment term and was released, but the person who ordered the murder, as it has ALWAYS been in the modern history of Russia, has “not been found”.
And all this despite the fact that Ilyumzhinov was the main protagonist of Larissa Yudina’s journalistic investigations. She wrote about how he was plundering the resources of Kalmykia and stealing money from the federal budget.
The same conclusion was made by an independent commission on the investigation of the crime, headed by Valery Ostanin, former Interior Ministry investigator and member of the YABLOKO faction [in the State Duma].
That is why each time I repeat the same phrase on this mournful day:
I CONSIDER KIRSAN ILUMAHINOV BE THE ONE WHO ORDERED THE MURDER, UNLESS THE COURT PROVES THE OPPOSITE.
Larissa was a Yabloko member, we know each other well.
She has been and will always remain a true hero of Russia.
WE WILL NOT FORGET IT, WE WILL NOT FORGIVE IT!
