On 27 March 27, Oleg Rodin, official representative of candidate for the post of President of the Russian Federation Grigory Yavlinsky, and Marina Chufarina, member of the electoral commission of the Nizhny Novgorod region with the right of an advisory vote, filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Yabloko party in the Kanavinsky district of NizhnyNovgorod demanding to cancel the results of voting at electoral districts No 2166 and 2319.
The Electoral Commission at precinct No. 2366 left the premises of the commission without approving the results of the voting. Subsequently, the results differing from the counting at the polling station emerged in the GAS Vybory system (state automated system Vybory).
The Electoral Commission at precinct No 2319 demonstrated violations of the voting procedure outside the voting premises: representatives of the electoral commission went to Hospital No 39 without a register for voting outside the premises, which is unacceptable, and the commission allowed the hospital staff to vote, which is prohibited by law and distorted the will of the citizens.
According to Oleg Rodin, filing the lawsuits Yabloko activists tried to draw public attention to the most common violations in the elections and so that they would not take place at future elections.
“We want electoral commissions stop manipulating the results of voting and act responsibly, in accordance with the procedures envisaged by law,” he said.
Roding noted that most violations took place during voting outside the voting premises. Similar violations were recorded in dozens of precincts, most of them located in the Kanavinsky district.
“In general, qualification of electoral commission members in the Kanavinsky district is very low. I think the Electoral Commission of the Nizhny Novgorod region should think about changing the composition of the Territorial Electoral Commission in the Kanavinsky district. The situation at precinct No. 2166 was simply flagrant, and it is a mystery for me why the higher-level commissions did not overturned the results there. The commission [of that precinct] simply compiled the voting protocol somewhere outside the voting premises without basing on the results of counting of the votes,” Oleg Rodin said.
