Lev Shlosberg: I will run for Governor of the Pskov Region
Lev Shlosberg commented on the resignation of Governor of the Pskov Region Andrei Turchak
Press release, 12.10.2017
Lev Shlosberg, deputy of the Pskov Region Legislative Assembly and member of Yabloko’s Political Coomittee, commented on the dismissal of Governor Andrei Turchak as well as his plans to run for the post in 2018.
“For the very beginning Andrei Turchak considered the Pskov Region only as a springboard for his career. All this years he was living out of his suitcase waiting for another step of the officials’ ladder to turn up and looking for opportunities. He saw no link between his future and the Pskov Region and did not hide it. He was and he is a stranger to the region, a time-server. The problem was that he had no experience of public administration and did not learn to do it during these years,” Shlosberg commented.
According to the politician, the results of Turchak’s activity are quite poor.
“The budget policy is ruined, the social sphere is in a coma, the economy is in stagnation. The time has come for the residents of the region to see the result of the ‘after us the deluge’ policy. It will not be easy to deal with this deluge. Another newcomer in the governor’s seat will not solve the problem. I do not believe in governors-newcomers, it makes no difference for the region. Strangers cannot restore other people’s home. I confirm that I will run for the post of governor in 2018. The Pskov Region needs a local resident as head of the region,” the politician said.
