Valery Borschyov and other human rights activists met with tortured dissident Ildar Dadin in the penal colony
On 7 November, Valery Borschyov, member of the Moscow Public Monitoring Commission, member of the Federal Political Committee of the YABLOKO party and member of the Moscow Helsinki Group, and other human rights activists met with Ildar Dadin, tortured civil activist, in the Segezha penal colony.
Pavel Chikov and Igor Kalyapon, who are members of the Council for Civil Society and Human Rights under the Russian President, and YABLOKO’s Valery Borschyov conduct investigation on Ildar Dadin’s complaint on tortures in the penal colony. The results of the investigation will be submitted to Mikhail Fedotov, head of the Council for Civil Society and Human Rights. He, in turn, will submit the report of human rights defenders to the President of Russia.
“We will refrain from evaluations before the end of the investigation,” Valery Borschyov said. But he noted that Ildar Dadin “looks determined to fight”.
“He is a man of principle, gives an impression of a persistent and energetic person,” Borschyov noted.
Earlier, YABLOKO had issued a statement demanding an end to the torture of Ildar Dadin and Moscow Youth YABLOKO conducted picketing demanding stop tortures of Dadin.
