Leader of a civic organisation supporting indigenous peoples of the Amur Region joined YABLOKO

Leonid Sungorkin, leader of a civic organisation supporting the culture, rights and freedoms of the indigenous peoples of the Amur Region, joined YABLOKO.
The organisation headed by Leonid Sungurkin conducts outreach activities in order to promote the culture and way of life of the indigenous groups of the Amur Region. The organisation is planning to open a crisis centre for representatives of the indigenous peoples who found themselves in a difficult situation.
Leonid Sungorkin is a journalist. In 2011 he founded the first newspaper for the indigenous groups of the Far East called Khabarovsk Post and Aborigen magazine.
The YABLOKO party cooperates with the native minorities closely. This way Pavel Sulyandziga, Deputy Chair of the UN Working Group on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises, ran as YABLOKO’s candidate in the State Duma election.
