YABLOKO to light 1418 candles to commemorate Second World War victims
YABLOKO will light 1418 candles to commemorate the victims of the Second World War on the eve of Adolf Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union, 21 June.
The invasion took place on 22 June and lasted for 1418 days, therefore the party activists are going to light 1418 candles, one per each day of the war. YABLOKO founder Grigory Yavlinsky, Chairperson Emilia Slabunova, Deputy Chairmen Nikolai Rybakov and Alexander Gnezdilov, Federal Political Committee member Sergei Mitrokhin and the party activists are going to participate in the memorial action.
YABLOKO holds the action annually.
The action starts by the 1941 Tomb in Victory Park at 09:00 p.m. (Park Pobedy metro station).
