Mitrokhin: Sentence to Evgenia Sukhorukova is Khudilainen’s revenge
Press release, 02.10.2015
Today, on November 2, the Pretrozavodsk city court of the Republic of Karelia gave Evgenia Sukhorukova, deputy mayor of Petrozavodsk, member of YABLOKO regional branch team, a three years suspended sentence with one year probation period for abuse of official authority causing heavy consequences as deputy head of the Prionezhsky district, Petrozavodsk.
YABLOKO Chairman Sergei Mitrokhin claims the sentences is politically motivated.
Sukhorukova will appeal against the court decision.
“It is good that Evgenia Sukhorukova was not imprisoned but the unjust conviction is obviously the revenge of governor Khudilainen for the consistent policy of YABLOKO and mayor of Petrozavodsk Galina Shirshina. The governor discredits both the law inforcement and state power,” noted Mitrokhin.
