Violations of the first day of voting. Yabloko observers report being denied access en masse, some receiving summonses

On 18 September, three-day voting began in Russia in the elections to the State Duma of the 9th convocation, as well as to regional parliaments and municipal councils in a number of constituent entities of the Russian Federation. A hotline for observers and voters is operating on the Yabloko website throughout the voting period. Throughout the day, observers from a number of regions have been reporting being denied access en masse, and some of them have begun receiving summonses to military enlistment offices. Yabloko is responding to the violations and filing complaints promptly. In addition, on Friday afternoon, party Chairman Nikolai Rybakov sent an urgent appeal to Ella Pamfilova, Chair of the Central Electoral Commission of Russia.
First of all, it should be noted that on 17 and 18 September, some Telegram channels spread fake reports about an alleged “briefing” held for Yabloko activists on how to disrupt the electoral process. These reports are untrue, and Yabloko has nothing to do with their content.
