Today, 2 September, Yabloko representatives filed appeals against the court rulings that had earlier granted claims to cancel the registration of the party’s candidate lists standing for seats in the Legislative Assemblies of the Kaliningrad and Sverdlovsk Regions.
The appeal in the Kaliningrad Region was filed by lawyer Roman Morozov, one of the leaders of the region-wide part of the candidate list. It will be heard by the First Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction.
The appeal in the Sverdlovsk Region was filed by lawyer Yaroslav Shcherbakov, leader of the party’s list for the State Duma elections, member of the Federal Bureau and Chairman of Chelyabinsk Yabloko. It will be heard by the Second Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction.
Until the rulings enter into force, Yabloko’s lists remain on the ballot papers, and the party’s representatives continue to take part in debates.
The court rulings do not affect the party’s candidates standing in single-mandate constituencies.
It should be noted that, in the Kaliningrad Region, Yabloko’s candidate list was removed following a claim by the Communists of Russia party, while in the Sverdlovsk Region it was removed following a claim by the LDPR party. As previously reported, the claims are identical and match word for word.
