Round table on problems in education to be held by Moscow Yabloko

Moscow Yabloko is continuing its series of round tables devoted to protecting the rights of Muscovites. On 31 March, a meeting with representatives of the education sector, politicians, and academics will be held at the Yabloko Moscow office. The theme of the round table is “Education for the 21st Century: What Skills Should Schools and Universities Provide?”
“We will discuss what a modern education system should truly be teaching schoolchildren and students, and where it is currently failing to fulfil that purpose,” Moscow Yabloko announced in a preview of the event.
The speakers at the 31 March round table will be:
– Emilia Slabunova, Honoured Teacher of Russia, former Chairman of the Yabloko party, and leader of the Yabloko faction in the Legislative Assembly of Karelia;
– Alexander Sogomonov, Leading Research Fellow at the Institute of Sociology of the Federal Research Sociological Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences;
– Dmitry Martynenko, physics teacher at Moscow School No. 7;
– Vasily Dikarev, engineer at the Laboratory of Recent Deposits and Pleistocene Palaeogeography, Faculty of Geography, Moscow State University;
– Kirill Goncharov, Chairman of Moscow Yabloko.

The event will take place at 31/2 Pyatnitskaya, Moscow; on Tuesday, 31 March, at 19:00.
