On 27 February, on the eleventh anniversary of Boris Nemtsov’s murder, members of the Moscow branch of the Yabloko party honoured the memory of the slain politician at the site of the tragedy – the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge near the Kremilin. Since the horrific crime, this bridge has been unofficially known as the “Nemtsov Bridge”.
Kirill Goncharov, Chairman of the Moscow Yabloko party, Yuri Shein, Deputy Chairman of Moscow Yabloko, and dozens of activists from the Moscow branch of the party came to the site of the tragedy in the evening. Hundreds of bouquets of flowers, candles lit, and portraits of the late Boris Nemtsov stood on this day at the improvised memorial, which Moscow authorities generally don’t allow enthusiasts to maintain year-round.

The Moscow Yabloko delegation observed a moment of silence in memory of the slain politician. Goncharov then addressed the gathering and emphasised:
“We insist: violence and political assassinations have no place in our country.”
Politician Boris Nemtsov, who received widespread recognition and support during his lifetime for his active work, including in combating corruption and exposing corrupt ties within the government, was assassinated on the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge by a hitman who shot him in the back. The person who ordered the assassination still remains “unidentified”.
It should be also noted on the afternoon on 27 February, Yabloko party Chairman Nikolai Rybakov, along with Deputy Chairman Vladimir Dorokhov, Federal Political Committee member Ivan Bolshakov, and other Yabloko members, laid flowers at the site of the tragedy and honoured the memory of the slain politician. Grigory Yavlinsky, head of Yabloko’s Federal Political Committee, and Kirill Goncharov, Chairman of Moscow Yabloko, also laid flowers at Boris Nemtsov’s grave at Troekurovskoye Cemetery in Moscow.
