Moscow Yabloko to host round table on muscovites’ civil, political, economic and social rights

The Moscow branch of Yabloko invites participants to a Round Table with experts in economics, urban heritage protection, electoral and judicial systems – “The Absence of Muscovites’ Rights in Moscow: The Fiction of Participation and the Reality of Prohibitions”.
There is an evident demand amongst residents Moscow for honest expert discussion. The Moscow Yabloko space is one of the few platforms where such discussion is possible today, Kirill Goncharov, Chairman of the Moscow branch of Yabloko and organiser of the Round Table explains:
“We are planning a series of such meetings throughout the year to cover the full spectrum of issues related to the realisation of Moscow residents’ rights, and we shall begin with one of the most important – a topical issue that is painful for all Muscovites. With the absence of mechanisms to protect one’s rights in one’s own city. To acknowledge the problem, document it, understand and assess all available legal instruments – this is how we want to begin the conversation about Muscovites’ rights”.
The list of participants of the discussion will include:
- Sergei Mitrokhin, deputy of the Moscow City Duma of the 4th and 7th convocations, member of the Federal Political Committee of the party;
- Yelena Dubrovina, member of the Central Electoral Commission of Russia (1999-2016), member of the Federal Political Committee of the party;
- Yevgeny Gontmakher, economist, member of the Federal Political Committee of the party;
- Kirill Goncharov, Chairman of the Moscow branch of the party;
- Mikhail Biryukov, lawyer;
- Anatoly Zakharov, municipal deputy of the Bogorodskoye district, Moscow;
- Alexandr Kupriyanov, urban heritage activist.
