Yabloko will take part in the 2026 elections under the slogans “For Peace and Freedom! For a Life Without Fear!”
Press Release, 3 December 2025

The Yabloko party will take part in the 2026 elections – to the State Duma and regional legislative assemblies, including those regional parliaments where Yabloko is currently represented (St Petersburg, Karelia, and the Pskov Region). This decision was taken at a meeting of the Federal Political Committee of Yabloko on 2 December. The campaign will be conducted under the slogans “For Peace and Freedom! For a Life Without Fear!”
The party emphasises that participation in the elections means advancing the core values of peace, humanity, respect for human dignity and human rights within the socio-political space of present-day Russia. The party’s aim is to place the preservation of human life and dignity at the centre of the entire political agenda.
Events of recent years have confirmed the correctness of the party’s position on the key question – the necessity of concluding a ceasefire agreement as soon as possible and beginning comprehensive negotiations about the future.
In the opinion of Political Committee members, amongst the political forces of modern Russia it is precisely Yabloko that is capable of offering Russian citizens a comprehensive substantive alternative agenda and long-term strategy for the country’s development.
Yabloko’s position on the necessity of concluding a ceasefire agreement as soon as possible is now shared by the majority of Russian society, yet not one other party supports it. This means that a special responsibility falls on Yabloko candidates: acting on the basis of the party’s principles, they will have to withstand serious pressure. In recent months, Yabloko leaders have been facing pressure and repression with increasing frequency.
The party believes that the authorities’ desire to exclude uncertainty from election results, replace dialogue with society with the instilling of fear and “learnt helplessness”, creates a dangerous situation fraught with the risk of dividing society, a rise in far-right sentiment and the threat of fascism in the perspective.
