On 22 July, another hearing took place at the court of the first instance on the case of Yabloko Deputy Chairman Lev Shlosberg for violating “foreign agent” legislation. The proceedings lasted almost three hours and were postponed to 30 July due to the public prosecutor’s participation in another court hearing.
It should be noted that in autumn 2024, a criminal case was opened against Lev Shlosberg under the article on evading the obligations of a “foreign agent” (Article 330.1, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The investigation believes that the politician posted several videos on his VKontakte social media page, which he administers, without the “foreign agent” label. Lev Shlosberg does not admit his guilt.
Since 11 June, the Yabloko Deputy Chairman has been under house arrest on another criminal case for repeated “discrediting of the army” due to debates with historian Yury Pivovarov, in which the politician defended the position of the necessity of an immediate ceasefire. Investigation on this case is going on.
