Astrakhan may elect a deputy advocating for Peace and Freedom

The regional branch of the Yabloko party in Astrakhan has nominated a candidate for the elections of deputies of the Astrakhan City Duma in electoral district No. 2. Yelena Shiryaeva, a Yabloko member since 2000, will conduct a campaign under the general party slogan “For Peace and Freedom! For the Ceasefire Agreement!” To register for the elections, a Yabloko candidate must collect 50 signatures of district residents in support of her nomination.
Yelena Shiryaeva has been a Yabloko member since 2000, and is currently the Deputy Chairperson of the local branch of the Leninsky District of Astrakhan.
Single-mandate constituency No. 2, in which the Yabloko candidate is running, includes the oldest districts of Astrakhan: Bely Gorod, Tatarskaya, Armenian Sloboda, and Nemetskaya Sloboda.
Elections in Astrakhan will be held on a single voting day – September 14.
