Yabloko continues to support Russian political prisoners. On 24 September, a charity auction will be held in the central office of Yabloko in Moscow. In the coming weeks, actions of writing letters to political prisoners will be held in the Moscow branch and regional branches of the party.
Anyone can take part in the actions of writing letters to political prisoners. Those unable to come to the party office, can send letters to political prisoners independently using our instructions.
“We just wait for any news every day. We write in our letters about everything: books, writers, paintings, artists, films, TV series, sports, physical training, travel, leisure, scientific discoveries, faith, elections, personal and professional stories, news and much more. So write letters to the prisoners, they are really looking forward to them,” Grigory Melkonyants, lawyer and Co-Chairman of the independent observers movement Golos, who has been imprisoned in a pretrial detention centre for the second year already on the charges of “organising the activities of an undesirable organisation”, wrote in his letter to Yabloko.
The actions will be held in Yabloko’s regional branches all over Russia from 22 September through to 4 October. The list of the regional branches, addresses and dates are published here.
