On 28 May, the Yabloko party Gender Faction will hold a round table “Feminitives: a Natural Development of a Language or Extremism?”. The event will begin at 18:00 Moscow time.

The following positions will be discussed:

– The use of feminists is extremism, which is practiced by the extremist LGBT community. They should be banned.

– There are feminitives in the Russian language, but to invent new ones means to cripple the Russian language.

– The emergence of new feminitives is a natural process reflecting the struggle for gender equality in society.

The participants in the discussion will be Nadezhda Azhgikhina, journalist, writer and Director of the PEN Club (Moscow), Hasan Guseinov, philologist, and Yelena Zdravomyslova, Professor at the European University and Co-Coordinator of the Gender Studies Programme.

Representatives of the Yabloko Gender Faction, experts, members, candidate members and supporters of Yabloko, as well as all interested in this issue, are invited to participate.

The anchor will be Chairwoman of the Yabloko Gender faction, Galina Mikhaleva.
