On 27 March, the Moscow police conducted searches at the homes of three journalists from the SotaVision media: Alexandra Astakhova, Anastasia Musatova and Antonina Favorskaya, whereas Favorskaya was taken for search directly from the special detention centre where she was serving an administrative arrest.
On the same day, police detained, near Favorskaya’s house, SotaVision correspondent Yekaterina Anikevich and RusNews journalist Konstantin Zharov, who was beaten during the arrest. An ambulance called to Zharov registered various injuries. Zharov and Anikevich were subsequently released without any [violation] protocols.
Yabloko demands to stop persecuting journalists for their professional activities under false pretexts and check the legality of searches and detentions of the aforementioned persons.
