The Yabloko Party University will host a lecture by Pavel Kudyukin on trade unions in Russia

On 26 January, the Yabloko Party University will host a lecture by Pavel Kudyukin “Trade Unions in Russia”. The lecture will begin at 19:00 (Moscow time). The lecturer, Pavel Kudyukin, is Co-Chairman of the University Solidarity Trade Union, member of the Council of the Confederation of Labour of Russia, and Deputy Minister of Labour of Russia in 1991-1993.
The lecture will deal with the role of trade unions in the labour market (reducing the asymmetry of bargaining power in relations with the employer) and in civil society (the most massive organisations); the Soviet legacy in Russian trade unions and its oppressive influence on the development of the trade union movement; new (class and democratic) trade unions, their problems and prospects; the real and the potential political role of trade unions.
The lecture will take place at the office of the Yabloko party in Moscow at the address: Pyatnitskaya 31, building 2. Registration for the lecture is required.
The lecture will be also livestreamed on the YouTube channel of the Yabloko Party University.
