In Novgorod, police searched the home of Ksenia Cherepanova, a member of the Bureau of the Novgorod branch of Yabloko and a Yabloko candidate in the elections to the Novgorod City Duma

According to Ksenia’s sister, Anna Cherepanova, who is Chair of the Novgorod Yabloko, armed men broke down the door of Ksenia’s flat early this morning, at 6 a.m., and started a search. The police took Kseniya Cherepanova away for interrogation. However, did not grant Ksenia the right to contact a lawyer or her relatives, and for several hours nothing was known about her whereabouts.
On 8 September, 2021, Ksenia Cherepanova was recognised a person affiliated with a foreign agent for her cooperation with the Golos movement of election observers. Before that, Ksenia headed the Novgorod branch of Golos. She stopped her participation in the Golos movement before being nominated for the elections of deputies of the Novgorod Regional Duma in 2021. She has not been a member of this movement for more than two years.
UPDATE. August 17, 4:30 p.m. Later it became known that the members of the Kirov branch Yabloko Denis Shadrin and Polina Kuskova were also searched. In addition, party supporters Vladimir Zhilkin in Moscow and Eldar Baimuratov in Chelyabinsk were summoned as witnesses in the Golos case.
