Yabloko leader Nikolai Rybakov to visit the Tambov region

On 25-26 July, Yabloko Chairman Nikolay Rybakov will visit the Tambov Region. In Tambov, he will meet with Olga Burkanova, Director of the Voroninsky nature reserve, and Vladimir Sereda, with the former Chairman of the Tambov branch of the Memorial human rights organisation and the chief curator of the Sergei Denisov Literature and Arts Museum, as well as with members and supporters of the party. The next day, Rybakov will visit the city of in Uvarovo where he will attend an evening in memory of journalist and Yabloko party member Yuri Shchekochikhin.
On the morning of 25 July, Rybakov will visit the Dobraya Tochka charity environmental organisation, where he and his colleagues will bring things for those in need. The Tambov branch of Yabloko has been cooperating with this organisation for many years and helps to replenish their fund with the items they need. At the end of August 2022, there were more than 11,000 goods in the warehouse of Dobraya Tochka.
At 11:15 Nikolay Rybakov will visit the Voroninsky nature reserve and meet with its Director Olga Burkanova. The Voroninsky nature reserve is the only specially protected natural area of the federal level in the Tambov region.
At 15:45, Nikolai Rybakov, together with Vladimir Sereda, the former Chairman of the Tambov branch of the Memorial human rights organisation and the chief curator of the Sergei Denisov Literature and Arts Museum, will visit the monument to the victims of political repression, and places associated with the victims of the Tambov uprising.
The working day will end with a visit to the non-state museum of Sergei Denisov and a meeting with members and supporters of the Tambov Yabloko.
On the morning of 26 July, Nikolai Rybakov will visit the Eternal Flame memorial complex in Tambov and lay flowers at it. He will also visit the Tambov-Rada international complex. During the Second World War a camp for prisoners of war was organised there in the vicinity of Tambov, near the Rada station. People of more than 20 nationalities, who fought voluntarily or under duress on the side of Nazi Germany, were kept there behind barbed wire. According to official sources, approximately 24,000 prisoners of war died in the camp.
At 14:00, the Yabloko Cairman will arrive in Uvarovo, where a meeting in memory of journalist and member of the Yabloko party Yuri Shchekochikhin, who died 20 years ago after being poisoned by an unknown substance. The meeting will be held in the city library.
The event will also be attended by Nadezhda Azhgikhina, Yuri Shchekochikhin’s widow and Director of the PEN-Moscow Association. She will tell about the early years of the famous journalist, which he spent in Uvarov.
