The Rostov-on-Don branch of Yabloko held another charity event for refugees from Ukraine, including children
Press Release, 4.04.2023
The Rostov-on-Don branch of the Yabloko party, together with the Rostov Pomogayet Foundation (Rostov Helps) and the Shamaika restaurant, held another charity event called Yabloko’s Pie (“yabloko” means “apple” in Russian). On Sunday, 2 April, little cooks and their parents, refugees from Ukraine, baked pies together with Yabloko activists. They have prepared more than 20 pies under the guidance of the restaurant chefs, some of the pie will go to their families. Another part of the pies will be given to the other families of refugees who came to the Rostov region from Ukraine.
The organisers note that there were some worries at the beginning of the event, as earlier “Pies” were held in a smaller circle. But soon all the worries vanished, and everyone was engaged in a common fascinating activity. The young cooks tried very hard.
The Rostov-on-Don branch of Yabloko thanks the partner of the action the restaurant Shamayka for the opportunity to hold such charitable events absolutely free of charge.
Anatoly Yazkov, one of the organisers of the action and a member of the regional Bureau of Yabloko, believes that holding such actions is important and significant, and first of all, from a social point of view. This allows you to draw attention to important social issues and provoke public dialogue.
“Another positive thing is that the activists of our regional branch communicate in an informal environment at these actions, we are getting closer. We are also attracting more and more supporters to the action, this is important for the development of the branch. The recent Yabloko’s Pies were wonderful, they were held in a friendly and warm atmosphere,” Anatoly Yazkov notes.
The Sunday action ended with tea. The Rostov-on-Don branch of Yabloko promises that more charity events for those who need support will follow.
