The court in Abakan returned to the Public Prosecutor’s Office the criminal case of Mikhail Afanasyev on “fakes about the army”

The Abakan City Court returned to the Public Prosecutor’s Office the case of Mikhail Afanasyev, a member of the Yabloko party and editor-in-chief of the Novy Focus online media, who was charged with spreading “fakes about the army” under Article 207.3 Part 2 of the Criminal Code.
The judge dismissed the objections by two public prosecutors in support of the public prosecution. The case was returned for re-compilation of charges, as it was drawn up with errors. The Public Prosecutor’s Office was given one month so that to amend the errors, but this term can be extended.
Mikhail Afanasyev remains in custody until 16 January by a court decision.
Earlier it was reported that an administrative case was filed against Novy Fokus for inciting hatred or enmity under Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The city Public Prosecutor’s Office saw violations in the publications of the media, whose editor-in-chief is Mikhail Afanasyev. He is also the founder of the legal entity – the founder of the media.
