Polina Kuskova, a Bureau member of the Kirov regional branch of the Yabloko party, spoke at the plenary meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the Kirov Region on 27 October, 2022. In her speech, Kuskova spoke about the formation of the Youth Parliament in the region.
Deputies of the Legislative Assembly propose to establish that the Youth Parliament of 40 members should be formed from among the representatives of the deputies – one representative from each deputy.
The Kirov regional branch of the Yabloko party believes that it is necessary to leave the current Regulations on the Youth Parliament of the Kirov Region unchanged.
“The Youth Parliament, first of all, should remain an elected body and represent the interests of the youth, rather than the regional MPs. It is necessary to encourage young citizens to declare their civic stance, and involve them in participation in elections and voting,” Polina Kuskova said in her speech.
It should be noted that the previous composition of the Youth Parliament of the Kirov Region was dissolved in February 2022 for opposition speeches. After the dissolution, an alternative Youth Parliament independent of the authorities was formed in the Kirov region.
