A court in Krasnodar sentenced Andrei Pivovarov, a public figure and former candidate for the State Duma from Yabloko, to four years in prison and an eight-year ban on political activities.
Pivovarov was found guilty of the activities of an “undesirable organisation”. The basis of the criminal case are his posts on Facebook.
Yabloko insists that the laws on undesirable organisations and “foreign agents” must be repealed, and all those convicted under these articles must be released.
