YABLOKO deputies will work in the Novgorod Duma and parliaments of six more regions

 Press release, 09.09.2013

logotip1_16Factions of the YABLOKO party will emerge in the parliaments of Novgorod, Polevsky (the Sverdlovsk region), Krasnokamsk (the Perm region) and Korsakov (the Sakhalin region). YABLOKO representatives will become heads of two towns in Karelia and municipal deputies in the Tver region, Karelia and the Moscow Region.

YABLOKO’s list to the Novgorod City Duma received 9.64 per cent of the vote.

Galina Shirshina supported by YABLOKO has become Mayor of Petrozavodsk, Karelia. Shirshina received almost 42 per cent of the vote being 10 per cent ahead of the candidate from the ruling United Russia.

YABLOKO’s list of candidates to the Council of Korsakovskoye rural settlement in Sakhalin obtained 15.83 per cent of the vote.

In the Sverdlovsk region at the elections to the Polevsky Duma, YABLOKO received 11.98 per cent, ranking second only to the ruling United Russia.

Six candidates to the Krasnokamsk City Council, the Perm region, were the winners in their single-mandate constituencies and become deputies .

YABLOKO’s list in the election to the Council of Deputies of Nelidovo, the Tver region, obtained 9.66 per cent of the vote.

Journalist and environmentalist Tatiana Pavlova, nominated by YABLOKO to run for the Council of Deputies of Selyatino, the Moscow region, and also candidate for the head of Selyatino, was elected deputy of the Council. And she lacked only 67 votes to win the mayoral election (Pavlova received 38.67 per cent of the vote and the acting city head 40.27 per cent).

YABLOKO candidates were elected heads of two rural settlements in Karelia: Tatyana Shalapanova in Zaozersky with 47 per cent and Nadezhda Lonina in Ladvinskogo with 50 per cent.

In Karelia YABLOKO representatives were also elected to the councils of deputies in Olonetsky, Derevyanksky, Gargizonsky, Zaozersky , Meliorativny, Ladvinsky, Ryboretsky, Ladva-Vetkinsky, Novovilgovsky, Paysky, Sheltozersky, Ryboretsky, Shokshinsky and Shumsky settlements.

YABLOKO candidates received good results finishing second in the elections of four heads of municipalities. In Krasnogorsk (the Moscow Region) YABLOKO’s Igor Zaitsev obtained 19.28 per cent being second only to the acting head of the city – Boris Rasskazov (39.47 per cent). In the elections of the head of Lesozavodsk district (the Maritime Territory) YABLOKO’s Nikolai Vorobyov got 19.5 per cent of votes being second after United Russia’s Oleg Pavkin (40.2 per cent).

In the elections of the head of the Nevelsky district, the Pskov region, YABLOKO’s Andrei Vikhman got 36.73 per cent. United Russia’s Alexander Vaschenkov surpassed him only by six per cent due to mobile voting. Lev Shlosberg, leader of the Pskov branch of YABLOKO, noted that Andrei Vikhman won all the urban areas, but a large part of the voters (28.5 per cent) voted via mobile ballot boxes.

“If we neglect mass-scale voting at home in rural electoral districts and leave only the vote of citizens who came to the 30 polling stations, then Vikhman won the election and he should be a legitimate winner of the election in their fair part,” Shlosberg said. He also expressed his certainly that voters in the rural areas were recorded for mobile voting by entire villages without voters knowing about this.

Lubov Gerasimova, YABLOKO candidate in the Strugokrasnensky area in the Pskov region also came second with 14.38 per cent.
