For the first time since foundation of the party there was a search in the party Moscow headquarters – and in connection with the events taking place 18 months ago. In November 2012 Andrei Rudomakha, a well-known environmentalist in the Krasnodar Territory and YABLOKO activist, was arrested for several days. A party press release quoted his comment on this, he allegedly had called a judge “a travesty of justice”. Read more »

Investigators have just completed a search in the Moscow headquarters of the YABLOKO party and took away a personal computer. The search was conducted within a criminal case raised under Article 298.1 of the Criminal Code “Slander Against the Judge”. The case was initiated against the Andrei Rudomakha, ex-Chair of the Krasnodar branch of YABLOKO. Sergei Mitrokhin was brought into the case as a witness and interrogated yesterday.

Today YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin was interrogated in the Zamoskvoretsky Investigation Department as a witness in the trial on Andrei Rudomakha, ex Chair of the Krasnodar branch of YABLOKO “for libel against a judge”. The interrogation was held by senior investigator Sergei Smirnov.

On May 17 Sergei Mitrokhin was re-elected Chairman of the Moscow branch of YABLOKO for two years term. He was supported by 27 delegates during the secret voting at the report-and-election conference. His opponent, member of Moscow YABLOKO regional council Mikhail Petrov received 11 votes.

A rally in memory of the deported ethnic groups on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of deportation of the Crimean Tatars took place in Moscow on May 18. The rally was organised by the Committee Against Xenophobia and the YABLOKO party. The participants of the action paid tribute to the memory of the Crimean Tatars and the other ethnic groups who were forcibly resettled from their native land in Joseph Stalin’s time and demanded to establish the Day of Deported Ethnic Groups

Before one of my interviews at the Ekho of St.Petersburg [radio station] we decided to conduct an experiment – you were asked to send your questions to YABLOKO’s web-site. We received a lot of questions and I thank you for it.
The main topic of that radio broadcasting was the Governor’s address to the Legislative Assembly of St.Petersburg, and there was virtually no time left to cover other topics. YABLOKO Bureau expelled Chair of the Kirov branch of YABLOKO Evgeny Kokoulin earlier today. The reason for this was his support of Putin’s policy and participation in the “Committee for the Russian spring in the Kirov region” which was founded to “support the people of Eastern Ukraine who carry national liberation struggle against the neo-fascist Kyiv junta”. Fourteen Bureau members voted for the exclusion, one voted against. Read more »

Because it’s the only registered democratic party which successively opposes the present regime and doesn’t make overtures to nationalism.
