YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin claims that the murder of Boris Nemtsov is a challenge to the whole of the society and calls the authorities to capture those who committed and ordered the crime.
“It’s absolutely obvious that it wasn’t an accidental murder but a political one,” said YABLOKO leader to Interfax.
According to Mitrokhin, it should be essential for Russia’s authorities to capture those who committed and ordered the crime. “The challenge was tossed. Putin’s personal opponent was murdered,” said YABLOKO leader.
“It’s an act of political terror,” claim Sergei Mitrokhin.
“The case is not about the opposition only. The murder of Boris Nemtsov is a blow to the whole Russia’s society, to Russia’s federal status,” commented YABLOKO leader.
Sergei Mitrokhin: “Outraged with foul murder of Boris Nemtsov. Condolences to relatives and colleagues. This is political terror. Opposition must harshly react to it”
Grigory Yavlinsky: “This is a very grave crime. There are no words for it. The political responsibility lies on the authorities and personaly president. Deepest condolences to the mother and all next of kin of Boris Nemtsov.”

Tomorrow a progovermnet “Anti-Maidan” rally will take place at the Revolution Square, near the Kremlin. The action has got a permission by the Moscow authorities.
Today, the Mayor’s Office denied the opposition forces the opportunity to hold a demonstration on the 1 of March in the center of Moscow (from the Beloryssky railway station along Tverskaya street to the Revolution Square). Russia’s place and role in the modern world is under the attack of the “collective West”, and not the political regime. Action needs to be taken now – otherwise it will soon prove impossible to stop the rollercoaster as it gathers momentum.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev declared recently that the current crisis had been caused in part by Russia’s decisions and the West’s reaction, but added that this was a “conscious choice”. What might this “choice” actually consist of and are the consequences really driven by conscious?
Ahead of opposition rallies organised by Russia’s liberals, Yabloko, to protest President Putin’s meddling in Ukraine, party’s Political Committee has charged Russia’s present regime with “national-imperial neo-Bolshevism.” Read more »
On February 18, the day of solidarity with the imprisoned environmentalist Evgeny Vitishko, leader of the North Ossetia branch of YABLOKO’s Green Russia faction Atsamaz Khadykov and Youth Yabloko activist Alan Alykov conucted one-person picketing in support of the political prisoner. The picketing was held in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia.
On March 1st, the YABLOKO party will form its own column at the opposition march, its slogan will be “No war with Ukraine”.
YABLOKO will also conduct anti-war actions in a number of Russia’s cities: St.Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Barnaul, Voronezh, Kazan. In St. Petersburg the authorities refused to authorize any of the seven routes for the march suggested by the opposition. The negotiations will take place today. Read more »

YABLOKO Political Committee believes that the present Russia’s regime of peripheral authoritarianism is turning into national-imperial neo-Bolshevism. The key element to this development has been inadequate foreign policies. On Monday, February 16, the representatives of the organising committee of the march and rally on March 1 will bring a notification on the conduction of a protest action under the slogan “No war! It started a little nervously. A capacious police van, PAZ brand, was parked next to the office.
Just as the participants of the action came out of the underground passage, several police officers immediately approached them and demanded a kind of “permission to film” when they saw a camera in the hands of our press service employee.
The policeman who required the “permission”refused to introduce himself or show his badge. He ran away from the camera lens. Others began to check the passports of the picketers taking pictures of the documents via mobile phones.
However, they didn’t check mine. I know that I appear on the electronic databases of all the law enforcement agencies.Read more »
On February 1 YABLOKO conducted a rally for resignation of Marat Kusnullin, Vice Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development and Historical Heritage. The rally was held within the campaign for the resignation of Deputy Mayor. The action too place in the centre of Moscow, in Novopushkinskiy garden at 14:00. About 300 people participated in the rally.
