Vladimir Lukin, one the founder of the YABLOKO party and Russia’s Ombudsman for Human Rights in 2004-2014, resumed his membership in the party. According with the requirements of the Russian law ombudsmen should be non-partisan. Vladimir Lukin stated his wish to resume his membership in YABLOKO at today’s conference of the Moscow branch of the party. The conference voted unanimously for resuming his membership.Read more »

On 27 April, Petrozavodsk City Court sentenced Svetlana Chechil, member of YABLOKO’s Federal Council, to 1.5 years in a penal colony. Today, YABLOKO will hold pickets by the Public Prosecutor General’s Office protesting against such a decision. Yabloko Youth calls for the immediate release of Mikhail Konev, leader of PARNAS Youth wing. According to the reports on the social media, Mikhail has been kidnapped from the military registration and enlistment office in Moscow. Despite the fact that the activist has an exemption from military service the army conscription commission found him fit for military service.
