YABLOKO Chair Emilia Slabunova informed the Central Electoral Commission of this on 7 September. The party is going to summarize all the violations and submit a complaint to the Central Electoral Commission.

The Electoral Commission of St. Petersburg approved of YABLOKO’s motion on a referendum against the decision to name the bridge across the Duderhof canal after Akhmad Kadyrov, former Chechen President, unanimously. The motion will be referred for consideration of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly, which will decide whether the questions proposed by the initiative group should be put to a referendum within 20 days.

A terrorist attack taking the lives of 334 people, including 186 children, happened in Belsan, [North Ossetia], twelve year ago. We express our deepest sorrow and condolences to all the relatives and friends of the innocent victims. Terrorism and terrorists taking the lives of innocent people can not be justified. No political goals can be reached via terror. For three days, the country was frozen in pain watching what was happening in the Beslan school, and heard a lot of lies. Read more »

The YABLOKO party was represented in the debate by its leader Grigory Yavlinsky. The ruling United Russia party complained to the Election Commission of the Novgorod Region about YABLOKO’s video criticizing the Governor. The representatives of United Russia disapproved of YABLOKO’s calls for dismissal of Governor Sergei Minin. According to the complainants, the criticism of the Governor violates the electoral legislation.
