Mitrokhin to appeal to court the refusal to register him as candidate for deputy of the Moscow City Duma

Sergei Mitrokhin, member of the Federal Political Committee of the Yabloko party, will appeal in court against the refusal to register him as candidate in the Moscow City Duma election. He will not appeal to the Moscow City Electoral Commission again, because he assumes that the Moscow City Electoral Commission “will do the same trick” – instead of registering him, it will send him to the district electoral commission for the third time.

The court refused to remove Yabloko candidates from the election to the Vologda City Duma

The Vologda City Court refused to satisfy the demands of the representatives of the LDPR party, who tried to annul registration of four out of twelve candidates from Yabloko to the Vologda City Duma. The Central Electoral Commission finally withdrew Yabloko’s Andrei Babushkin from the Moscow City Duma election.
Babuskin will challenge the law on signatures in the Constitutional Court.

Earlier, the Moscow City Electoral Commission supported the decision of the district electoral commission, removing Babushkin from the election due to alledgely faulty signatures. Andrei Babushkin is a well-known human rights activist, member of the Presidential Human Rights Council and member of the Yabloko Federal Bureau.

The situation has been escalating on the threashold of possible protest actions in Moscow. The authorities are intimidating people: dozens of criminal cases return us to the period of reprisals after Bolotnaya Square [rallies in Moscow]. On the other hand, those calling on young people to take to the streets and relying on young people, compete in radicalism: it seems that they are afraid to show prudence, since in this case others will immediately replace them. In this situation, the possibility of aggression and violence is very great.

And 2,393 residents of Tula signed up in support of Yabloko candidates in the elections to the Tula City Duma, the collection of signatures was carried out by 85 collectors and lasted two weeks.

Rusakova asks for permission to march from Strastnoy Boulevard to Academician Sakharov Prospect or conduct a rally Sakharov Prspect, or Volkhonka street or Free Russia Square.
She indicated in the application that the estimated number of participants of the action is 10,000 people.

Yevgeny Bunimovich, Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Moscow and registered candidate for the election to the Moscow City Duma from the Yabloko party, appealed to Oleg Baranov, head of the State Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow, and Oleg Manakov, acting Public Prosecutor of Moscow, demanding to check the lawfulness of the detention of minors at the protest action of 27 July. The protest action support of unregistered opposition candidates did not get a permission from the authorities and was held on Saturday 27 July, 47 minors were detained during the action. The Ombudsman condemned the use of violence against the protesters by the law enforcement.
Yevgeny Bunimovich took part in the action along with other members of the Yabloko Federal Political Committee – Grigory Yavlinsky, Valery Borschyo, Boris Misnik and Sergei Mitrokhin.
