Alexei Yablokov spoke about the factors that influence world population’s health

Head of YABLOKO’s Green Russia faction, Councillor at the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexei Yablokov made a speech on environmental problems of the Moscow region at the scientific conference. The scientist told about the factors that influence the world population’s health.
In the second half of the 20th century the world population growth rate decreased. In 2001 the world population was not 8-9 billions as the UN’s demographists had supposed, but only 6 billion. According to Yablokov, the reasons for that became chemical and radiation pollution.
“A human’s health on forty percent depends on the environments. The mankind have already crossed the Rubicon by polluting the atmosphere”, said Alexei Yablokov.
